Body, Birth and Baby

Hi, I am Caroline and I am so glad you are here! Let me tell you a little about me and what led me to opening The Body, Birth and Baby Center!

My love for prenatal care began way back in 2007 when I decided to get certified in prenatal and postnatal massage. This sparked something in me that literally took me down a path I didn’t see coming!

Background:

B.A. in Theatre and Dance from Greensboro College 2003

Graduate of Potomac Massage Training Institute 2007

Prenatal and Postnatal Massage Training with Claire Marie Miller 2007

Certified HypnoBirthing Instructor 2012

Fertility Massage Training with Claire Marie Miller 2019

Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner Certification 2023

Breech Release Training 2024

Let’s talk about the personal stuff!

I came to HypnoBirthing in 2009, before my 1st daughter was born on recommendation from my midwife. I had no idea how I could achieve this amazing birth experience I fantasized about and I knew I couldn’t just do it on a whim. After completing the 5 week course I knew this was a life changing experience for me. Not only did it open my eyes to the beauty of a peaceful and calm birth but so much that I knew I wanted to share this information with other parents-to-be.

The knowledge my husband and I gained from HypnoBirthing was absolutely invaluable during my 4 births. It not only gave me a positive mindset that I could do this but tools and techniques to achieve it. I was part of every decision along the way and felt like I had conquered the world. Knowledge is great, but Preparation is Power!

Having taught hundreds of couples, I continue to see how empowering births CAN happen with the right preparation. As a Massage Therapist and Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner, I am able to combine my knowledge of the body with my HypnoBirthing teaching to help you bring the mind and body together for an empowering birth!

The first few years I taught private and small group classes, I then taught through the INOVA hospital system for 5 years. I went back out on my own in 2021 so that I could grow my business. The Body, Birth and Baby Center opened in 2022.

Little did I know that the nudge to get my Prenatal Massage training in 2007 would lead me to this. I am passionate about supporting women and families through this very transformational time.

In a time when everything is digital or virtual, we need to go back to building our community.  It does not benefit us to try to figure this all out on our own at home.  We need people in our daily lives to help support us and to lean on. That is what The Body, Birth and Baby Center is all about.

Beyond the classes and the care you receive during this time in your life, my hope is that you have felt heard, respected and supported.  This was my vision for the Center. Some of my favorite moments are the conversations after a class or in the hallway between appointments or seeing the Center full at our social events.  What makes me so happy is to see or hear about people hanging out all on their own that met at the Center!

Come be part of the BBBC community!
