Myth #1 Something needs to be wrong to do a Therapeutic Group.
~Everyone needs and deserves support throughout motherhood. We all have challenges so let’s navigate it together.
~Groups provide us with time and space to also reflect on what is going right, and to share that with others.
Myth #2 I am in individual therapy so I don’t need it.
~Individual therapy is great and these groups can be supplemental to the work that you are already doing. Alternatively, sometimes therapy sessions get busy and you may not have time to tackle situations related to motherhood if there are other topics being focused on. Groups are also cost effective and average much less than a typical therapy session cost.
Myth #3 I have mom friends or go to mom groups so that is the same.
~We all NEED mom friends. But things can stay surface level or are always about what is going on with the baby. Our groups dive in on important topics we should all be talking about.
Myth #4 I shouldn’t take time away from my baby.
~Our babies need us. But a brief time away can help us be the best version of ourselves so we can show up for our families.
Myth #5 I feel like I have motherhood down.
~Motherhood is ever changing. As soon as we get our groove something new pops up. Plus, there are other areas of our lives to put focus on as well.
~These groups are about more than just motherhood. It’s also about finding time to focus on you and who you are outside of a mother.
Myth #6 This is the same as an online support group
~Support groups are incredibly valuable, and our therapeutic groups provide you with therapeutic skills and support that you would not receive from a traditional support group
We have a group for first-time moms and one for moms with several young children at home. Join a group today! Group Info
